in the topic Your views about iScience.in in the forum IScience.in discussion
Thank you everyone for the comments and suggestions. Appreciate your views about iScience. I am also including Dr. Sudha Chauhan's comment (replied to email) - I do not find science.in of any use personally and feel that it is not serving any useful purpose. I am sorry for such harsh comments but that's the way I feel. The website gives very sketchy information about issues. @NB Nair Thank you sir for suggestions. I think iScience has many cross network sharing features on nearly every section (like one click sharing option on facebook, twitter, linkedIn and similar other networks) and also can share contents from other sites on this (due to privacy can be shared with the friends or groups as other networks have). Few other platforms like the site based on wordpress or bloggers could not be covered due programming restrictions and features these platforms have but we have the 'Page' section which provide the embedding the badges on blogging sites (updates along with members will be shown on other sites through badge like facebook's like badge shows the members). May be in future with more features more options would come. @ruhi Appreciate your idea to have some meeting or face to face interaction. Actually that is the best way for interaction, but see members are in different countries and do not appear to be easy way to have all members at one place (field specific people meet during respective field conferences). For common discussions, besides forum we have a Chat section, where you can invite the members for discussion at specific time (so that all participate in chat) and have discussion on any issue online. As Parveen said, may be during some conference or meeting, we can have get together (Events section is there where you share the conference details and members can join that to tell you that who is going to attend that). @Sudha Chauhan Appreciate your feedback. You may be right in your points. The iScience is a network site with more features and science specific platform. It has members' content, views and so it is in the hands of members to create and make it what should have. This is a community site. If you could be specific in feature in your views, then we would be happy to include that future developments. I personally feel, as NB Nair said, the potential and use of iScience has not been utilized completely by the members. It could be really more useful if all members use and share their science along with personal views. It is members who really have to make it purposeful. welcome everyone's more comments

in the topic Is education sufficient to empower women? in the forum Current Affairs
Parveen Bazard said: All this, social change and being independent will take a long time. What's the feasible solution here? Will this going to continue? Or, are you expecting any significant change in near future?   As this thread is concerned with the Indian girls/women. In India, see there is mostly rural population (spare nearly 20-30% of girls population residing in cities) and in rural set up, it is more a family culture. In that senario, most of the girls are given a habit of protection from very childhood instead of making them self dependent. Only few culture or families (I think many army families) try to make girls self dependent (and see the different in them). And even the girls residing in cities hardly inculcated a spirit of independence.   In this context, the society (people around) are responsible, that make a scene/scenario about girls. It is important to have a good social lookout towards girls.   (pardon me, I am not saying anything about the family culture in India. It is good (if not very good) and keep the members together).   Don't expect a sudden or tremendous change in this. Education and training would help girls in securing jobs, that will slowly change the social lookout towards them and will also slowly remove the dependency on man. But this is very slow and will certainly take time in true spirit.

My views are little different. I think Girls are not independent in India.. they are always dependent on the decisions made by her relatives (father, brother and in later life on husband). Actually, I think the support (to be safe) the girls gets makes them dependent. So is their education. Until they are not independent (in all their work including physical work), there will take a long to change social status. Education may help them in getting that, but what extent? I thinks girls have to decide themselves about that.
