The first scientist in world

  • Who was the first Scientist in the world? or Who was first scientist in human civilization? or Whom you will designate first scientist of the world?

What could be the answer for this question?

In human civilization there were three prominent discoveries (in ancient time) which affected greatly the development and stabilization of human race.

    1. Discovery of Fire.

    2. Discovery of Wheel.

    3. Discovery of Crop (Farming).

Who should be the credited with the title of Scientist, the person who discovered Fire, the person who discovered Wheel or Person who discovered the Farming.

The time period of the discovery of all these is unknown, which one came first. Not an exact idea.

Lets have a look how these could have been discovered.

    1. Discovery of Fire: Person saw that when two stones are strike with each other, which gave lightening and could ignite the wood around it. He again tried it and again burnt the fire.

             That is how it came.

    2. Discovery of Wheel: While carrying the load from one place to another, human being used either pulling or pushing to shift. Once when carrying, he observed that if few wooden logs are below it, then it is very easy to pull/push the load. Now he used to carry the load over logs. With time, he cut the logs in small pieces to carry load and that lead ultimately to wheel.

This is how wheel is supposed to have come.

    3. Farming: Person observed that when fruits (with seeds inside it) fall on the soil, a plant grows over that place over the time. The grown one plant gives the fruit. Then he observed that same thing happen again in the new season. The he sowed the seeds at desired place and saw them growing over the season and started getting the fruits.

This is how farming came by cautious observation over the time.

Importance: All the discoveries had great impact on the human development and have contributed towards the human civilization.

Fire gave warmth to human being in colder season (in initial stages might be primarily used), lead to cooking of food (man started eating warm food.. slowly turning into cooking).

Wheel is known to give wheel to human development. The carrying of load (even shifting very heavy load) became feasible, things shifted, got the arrangement the man liked, slowly used animal power along with wheel in moving.

Farming is known to lead stabilization of human civilization. Earlier human used to move from one place to another in search of food (khana badosh). With farming, the human began settling permanently (probably near the rivers) as food became available to him season by season.

Now lets return to main question - who will be the first scientist. Discovery wise and importance wise - facts are there.

Once I had discussion among friends over this and there was strong controversy among views and ultimately in designation. In my view, No doubt, all three are important but see the farming was one short of scientific study (involving .. observation> hypothesis> experimentation>result> repeat experimentation > result > conclusion (proved) > >> impact) and that also continuous observation over a long time period.

On the basis of method/study and impact, Farmer could be designated as first scientist of the world.

And historian has mentioned somewhere 'Farmer, first scientist .......' in some textbook, but can't recall where/which book (exactly).

Controversy could be ... (then why don't u leave a comment below).
